Zheravna is a small picturesque village situated in a small valley in the East part of Stara planina mountain at 640 meters altitude. It is located at 14 km south of Kotel, 110 km north-western direction from Bourgas, 190 km south-western direction from Varna and 330 km east direction from Sofia.

The climate is mild-with soft winter and cool summer. The countryside around Zheravna is extremely picturesque: uplands alternate with peaks and vast pastures.

The favorable geographical position and the mountain relief of the settlement offer perfect conditions for recreation and tourism. Trips, picnics, fishing, photo tourism and eco-roads are only part of the attractions of Zheravna. Here you will find marvelous possibilities for holiday, genuine beauty, comfort and intimacy.

ZHERAVNA- PART OF THE WORLD HISTORICAL HERITAGE

The settlement appears in the 12-14th century. During the 18th century becomes a craft and cultural center. Now days Zheravna is a famous architectural preserve.

The village has conserved its genuine appearance of the Bulgarian national revival: narrow cobblestone streets and one or two-leveled wooden houses surrounded by stone groans. Some of the houses are more than 300 years old. Each of them is an unique monument of the culture, built by unknown master.

SURROUNDING AREAS

In the surroundings of Zheravna there are lots of rest-houses and tourist routes. Some of the famous eco-routs are the ones near “Zlatna Oresha”, Kotel and Vida peak.

The artificial lake Zheravna offers good fishing conditions.

At 45 km south-western direction is located Sliven town. In the region is located the natural park “The blue stones” and the lovely place “Karandila”.
